Possessive Form of Nouns
The possessive form is used with nouns referring to people, groups of people, countries and animals.
Susan owns a book. ('Susan' is the possessor or owner)
It is Susan´s book.
Germany has some a lot of forests. ('Europe' is the owner)
They are Germany's forests.
Possessive forms can also express other relationships:
Susan works in a book shop. This is Susan´s book shop.
Susan lives in this house. It is Susan´s house.
Forms:
To form the possessive, add 's ('apostrophe -s') to the noun.
If the noun is plural, or already ends in -s, just add:' (an apostrophe).
If the noun is plural, or already ends in -s, just add:' (an apostrophe).
